Dr Alan Wade MB ChB FRCA
Dr Gordon Crawford BSc MB ChB MRCGP
Patients Direct was founded in 2006 by Alan and Gordon.
Alan previously was in practice and has developed interests in the pharmaceutical industry, advertising, and medical education with a special interest in neuropsychopharmacology. Gordon is a senior partner in a medical practice near Glasgow.
Both Alan and Gordon have worked in the CRO industry for over 25 years and have valuable and significant experience in designing studies, attending meetings and presenting data at the FDA and EMEA, and supporting a Sponsor in filing a New Drug Applications with the EMEA.
They are also founders and Directors of Patients Direct's affiliate company
CPS Research Limited, a long established CRO, which is also based in Glasgow.
Clinical Development Manager
Lesley Fitzpatrick RGN
Lesley leads the day to day management of a dedicated team of 9 experienced registered nurses. Along with Lesley they are responsible for the liaison with patients in their homes and at specialist sites throughout the West of Scotland.
Our nursing teams are trained to integrate with local clinical units to assist with patient recruitment, management and study data collection. All nurses have an extensive range of experience in all therapeutic areas and undertake regular training, both in-house and externally. All nurses also receive regular updates on ICH GCP.
Our professional and experienced administrative team are highly trained to produce a quality service in all areas and will undertake to liaise on your behalf with regulatory agencies and ethical committees in the UK and Europe.
Data Management
In association with the Robertson Centre for Biostatistics at Glasgow University we provide a full data management service including in-depth statistical analysis reports tailored to our Sponsor's requirements. This unit, headed by Prof. Ian Ford has a worldwide reputation for statistical management of clinical studies and has been responsible for several major projects including the PROSPER, IONA and WOSCOPS studies.
